The Nigeria Police National Command and Control (Public Safety Center) has launched a Free Help Apps called NPF Rescue-me!
The App is a free emergency call alert app for all emergencies that provides direct emergency notification to the Nigeria Police Force( NPF) Command and Control (Public Safety Center) nationwide.
Speaking to top police management team including Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police( AIGs) and Command Commissioners of Police ( CPs) via a virtual conference, the Inspector General of Police( IGP) Mr. Mohammed Adamu. said, “NPF Rescue-me App is a Smart technology that allows users (Nigerian citizens) to request for specific help depending on the severity of the situation, from Rape, Domestic violence, Robbery, Kidnapping among others ”.
He directed the States Command to take advantage of the technology to “help people in needs”, adding that each command is equipped with technology to manage its own operations.
IGP, Adamu, also charged the CPs to ensure all the C4i offices in various commands are open for emergency calls from rescue-me app 24hrs.
Further more, IGP Adamu, said, Commands should ensure a hitch free traffic movement during the Christmas as travelers embark of their holiday trips..
The application provides Optional notification for Friends and family tracking that allows designated friends, family, and loved ones to view location in real-time if the user send emergency to police.

It would be recalled that, the Police national command and command was commissioned on 22 December 2019 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Meanwhile, the project was held by an indegenous Systems Integrator, one of the ICT leading company in Nigeria, Gulf Technologies Networks.
