The Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, (FIRS)Mr. Muhammad Nami, has explained that he was aware of the enormous responsibilities he has been saddled with in his present position, not only by the Federal Government, but also by the generality of Nigerians and called for prayers from all and sundry in order to succeed on this assignment.
He stated this at the weekend at a reception organized by members of the 1st Mechanized Division, Nigerian Army’s Officers Mess, Kaduna Squash Club, in his honour on his appointment as the Executive Chairman, FIRS, by the Federal Government.
At the occasion, held by the club members at the Ashanti Hall, Hotel Seventeen, Kaduna, the FIRS’s Boss, Muhammad Nami, expressed appreciation to the organizers of the occasion, for honouring him and called for unity among members of the club.
He also assured the people and government of Niger state, his state of origin, that he will continue to be a good ambassador of the state wherever he finds himself.
Earlier in his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour at the reception, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, called on the celebrant to be a good Ambassador of Niger state in his current national assignment and future undertakings.
Governor Sani Bello, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Metane, noted that the appointment of Mr. Muhammad Nami, as the Executive Chairman, FIRS, by President Muhammadu Buhari recently, was based on merit, competence and hardwork.
The Governor stated further that Muhammad Nami’s track records as a well trained tax,accounting and management Professional, symbolizes his determination to make Niger state great.
Governor Sani Bello also expressed optimism that the Executive Chairman, FIRS, whom he described as a management professional, with highly rated qualifications and licenses from relevant professional bodies and with decades of practical working experience in auditing and tax management would no doubt transform the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for optimal performance.
He said, “the task is enormousam and requires masterstroke and resilience”, assuring Nami that the people and government of Niger State would not relent their prayers and support to succeed in this national assignment.
The Governor thereby wished the Executive Chairman of FIRS success and God’s guidance in the performance of the arduous duties of his Office.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, 1st Div. Officers Mess Squash Club, Kaduna, Mr. Sheriff Balogun disclosed that the appointment of Muhammadu Nami’s appointment as the Executive Chairman, FIRS, was a celebration of excellence noting that only those who have excelled and made it in the chosen Career were appointed to that exalted position, saying that Nami,is one of them”.
The Club’s chairman, further argued that the FIRS’s Boss has demonstrated intellectual abilities to break new grounds and succeed in different terrains.
