Ikeja home inferno: Diya at thanksgiving appreciates God

A thanksgiving service has been held to appreciate God on the escape from the fire that gutted the Ikeja home of former Chief of General Staff, Lt. General Oladipo Diya (Retd.)

At the service held at the United African Methodist, Yaba, Lagos, Bishop Zacheus Sanyaolu asked Nigerians to always appreciate God no matter the situation.

Quoting from several biblical injunctions, Sanyaolu extolled the sterling virtues of the elder statesman, Lt. Gen Oladipo Diya (retd.)on his continued dogged strides to passionately impact on the lives of others.

The cleric also applauded the General’s involvement in evangelism which has drawn many to Christianity. He however reiterated the need for others to exemplary emulate his divine gesture to make the society and the nation such pleasant environment.

The Bishop also congratulated Diya and the entire household on God’s demonstration of His genuine love, mercy and kindness at all times, more importantly from his escape from the claws of former dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Concluding, the cleric urged the audience to be grateful at all times to God, especially, on the celebrant’s previous experience, which also behooved them on the genuine need to fully invest in God’s work and be very transparent in their respective disciplines, to win souls to God at all times.

The event was very well attended by eminent personalities including Senator Mrs. Nike Akande, Olori Mojisola Abass, former Military Administrator Daniel Akintonde, Hon Gbenga Osinowo, Chief Toyin Oyewoga among others.
