IGP Orders Arrest Of Seun Kuti For Assaulting Policeman

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Owohunwa to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.

In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Saturday night, didn’t state where the assault took place added that the IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.

IGP Usman Alkali Baba assured Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes would be surely brought to book.

It was gathered that Seun Kuti had accused the policeman of wanting to kill him and his family, claiming he has evidence of what played out to substantiate his claim.

It was further learnt that the incidence happened earlier today along 3rd Mainland bridge.

However, it couldn’t be confirmed what actually transpired that led to the altercation.
