“I Can Make You Disappear In Nigeria, Nothing Will Happen” – Hon. Alex Ikwechegh

…threatens e-hailing driver, slaps him thrice

A member of the House of Representatives, Alex Ifeanyi Ikwechegh, in a viral video has assaulted a Bolt driver identified as Mr Stephen Abuwatseya, slapping him twice and threatened to make him disappear from Nigeria without any consequences.

In a video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), Ikwechegh, who proudly mentioned his name and threatened the driver to call the Inspector General of Police, slapped the Bolt driver several times ranting “Do you know who I am?”.

He boasted, “Can you imagine this rat? I can make you disappear from the whole Nigeria and nothing will happen. I am a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Do you know me? You are very stupid. Do you think you will get a penny with this level of disrespect?

He soon engaged a woman in a telephone conversation. “Madam, who is this stupid boy you sent to my house? “Who is this foolish boy that you sent to my house that I should come and pick something in his car?

However, when the Bolt driver responded if he just slapped him thrice, the one-time member of the House of Representatives went gaga: “I just did twice, and the third one, you will soon receive it. How dare you? Come on, get out of this place.

“Tell them. My name is Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives. Tell them I slapped you. Call the Inspector General of Police. Call him; let him come here. Record me very well. You came to my house; you disrespect me.

Not done, the law maker representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, under the party APGA, added, “I am not going to call my policemen to beat you up but I will beat you up myself.”

“I will beat the hell out of you and lie you down in my generator room. Do you know where you are? Is it because you saw me sitting down here? How dare you? How dare you? How dare you? Come on, get out of this place.” He went and sat down.

Unfortunately , some of our lawmakers have penchant for assaulting innocent citizens at the slightest chance or provocation. In 2019, Elisha Abbo, who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District in the 9th Assembly, assaulted a woman in a sex shop.
