How Navy Firemen Collaborated With Federal Fire Service To Rescue Plaza

The Nigerian Navy (NN) Firemen, a sub-unit of Naval Headquarters Garki Abuja on Monday joined force with men of the Federal Fire Service to rescue a conflagration that engulfed the popular UTC Shopping Plaza, Garki in Abuja.

It was learnt that they activated their machines when they were called to action yesterday, 15th April, 2024 and helped stop the fire that would have consumed the plaza.

According to a witness, an electric spark in one of the plaza shops ignited the fire outbreak with the potential to consume many other shops and properties.

However as the fire surged, the NN Firemen were called in to assist the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and the National Defence College (NDC) Fire Service in fighting the flames.

On arrival, it was gathered that the NN Firemen swung into action and the situation was brought under control, and no live was lost and damage to properties were minimal.
