…as boy kills girlfriend for fears of jilting him

A syndicate that specializes in the production and faking of Total Engine Oil have been arrested at Swiss Park Trade-Fair International Market, Lagos.
In the same vein, one Samuel Adeniyi has confessed how he killed his unnamed girlfriend with a sledgehammer for fears that the girl might leave him for another person.
These were disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, at the Police Officers Mess, Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, while briefing newsmen on several arrest and confiscation of suspects and weapons since “Operation Flush” started a month ago.
Although the the area of Lagos where the incident occurred was not mentioned by the commissioner, said the suspect was overcome by emotion at the prospect of the deceased jilting him for another before carrying out the crime.
“One Samuel Adeniyi got consumed by emotions and smashed the head of his girlfriend, and killed her. He (Adeniyi) said he suspected that the girl may leave him and perhaps for just that reason, he killed her and ran away. We have succeeded in arresting him and recovering the sledgehammer that he used and we will bring him to justice,” CP Owohunwa reiterated.
Owohunwa, while revealing the identity of the adulterators of engine said one Obinna Kinsley and Patrick Ezenwnne Obinna, 40 were arrested by the police with 66 kegs of fake engine oil with Total oil stickers on the 25th August, 2023.
It was learnt that about 1500hrs, based on credible intelligence on the production of fake engine oil, operatives of the Command swung into action leading to the arrest and confiscation of the fake production.
A gang who specialized in robbing victims of their vehicles were among the suspect criminals paraded.
The gang members Okafor Nzubechukwu, 38 in his hideout at Awoyaya-Ajah, was apprehended with an unregistered Black IS 250 Lexus SUV, one unregistered Black Toyota Camry saloon car, one unregistered red Lexus ES 350 saloon car, one unregistered ash Toyota Camry saloon car, one unregistered ash Lexus RX 350 SUV and one unregistered ash Toyota Camry saloon car.
Further investigation led to the arrest of the receivers Gbenga Olaoye, 49 and Luka Gaiya, 38 in FCT Abuja.
Arrested also in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp on the 5th August, 2023 in a Toyota Sienna bus with registration number: FST 26 HK along Mushin Road, while the driver fled the scene upon sighting the police.
However, 34 bags of weed suspected to be Indian hemp were discovered in the vehicle.
All suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation according to CP Owohunwa who added that since the flagging off of “Operation Flush”, significant arrested and recovering of arms have been made, urging his men to to rest in their oars.
