How Armed Robbers Who Attacked Uber Driver Were Arrested In Lekki

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers who attacked one Uber driver identified as Utibe, and snatched his Toyota Corola car with Reg. No LND 448 GH at Abijo GRA, Ibeju Lekki.

According to the Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said on Tuesday that the robbery was committed on 20th September 2020, about 11.30pm.

He revealed that on the receipt of the distress call, the Area Commander Area J, Ajah, despatched a team to the scene and the police operatives traced the snatched car to Mayfair Garden, Ibeju Lekki, where the suspects were arrested and the driver rescued and the car recovered.

Recovered from the suspects were one axe that was stained with blood, and one knife.

The driver, who was seriously injured, is said to be receiving treatment at a hospital within Lagos State and recuperating very fast.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for discreet investigation into the case, while he warned those who are planning to engage in criminal acts or have been involved in crimed to desist from it or flee Lagos State, before they meet their Waterloo.
