House Of Representatives Aspirant To Attract Federal Presence

An aspirant for the Nembe -Brass Federal constituency, Helen Bob says the constituency needs a vibrant and eloquent representative that can lobby and articulate the views of her constituents to attract federal presence which  lacking.
Hon Helen Bob who is contesting under the platform of the People Democratic Party ( PDP ) spoke to journalist amidst mammoth crowd when she went to submit her nomination and expression of interest form at the PDP secretariat in Yenagoa.
According to Helen Bob, a former chairperson of Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa state said has not only decided to contest, but to change the jinx since the advent of democracy in 1999 it had been only males that had occupied the position and they have not satisfied the yearnings and aspirations , hence she was approached by her people to go and change the narratives. She said despite the economic importance of Nembe- Brass  as an oil producing areas present and successive  federal governments had denied it development, and representatives had not been able to attract any federal presence  due to poor representation . ” the House of Representatives is a place you go to agitate , legislate and lobby your colleagues to provide the needs of your people ” she said .
On violence  during elections in Nembe – Brass Federal Constituency , she said as a mother she decried the use of violence to be elected , stressing that she is an advocate of peaceful, free and fair election, adding that most politicians involved in violence were people whose children are very young and tender and no parents would encourage their children to indulge in violence and other electoral malpractice . ” As a woman we have been advising our children against violence, those who clamour for violence are those people probably with children at the kindergarten and not those whose children are adult “
