Hope Builders Holds MSME Day to Show Resilience of Entrepreneurs Living With Disabilities

A non-governmental organization, Hope Builders for The Physically Challenged Foundation, has announced its upcoming event, MSME Day with Disability. The event aims to highlight the strength and resilience of entrepreneurs living with disabilities in Lagos.

Founder of the organization, Dr. (Mrs.) Christiana Kehinde Akinrinmade, shared insights about the event during a conversation with National Wire. She emphasized the importance of MSMEs in driving sustainable development and alleviating poverty. “The event is leveraging the power and resilience of Micro-Small and Medium-Sized (MSME) entrepreneurs to accelerate the Sustainable Development and eradicate poverty in times of multiple issues,” she said.

Scheduled for Thursday, 11th July 2024, at 11 AM, the event will take place at 38, Ijaiye Street, Itire, Mushin, Lagos State. The venue is expected to be bustling with activity as entrepreneurs living with disabilities showcase their products.

The event will feature an exhibition of various products made by these resilient entrepreneurs. This exhibition aims to provide a platform for them to display their skills and creativity, while also attracting potential customers and investors.

Support for the event comes from several notable organizations, including the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA). LASODA’s involvement underscores the government’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and promoting their economic empowerment.

In addition to LASODA, the Mushin Local Council Development Association has also thrown its weight behind the event. Their support is crucial in ensuring the success of the MSME Day with Disability, as it highlights the local council’s dedication to inclusive growth and development.

Another key supporter of the event is Avila Naturalle, a well-known natural skincare and wellness brand. Their sponsorship is a testament to the growing recognition of the contributions made by entrepreneurs with disabilities in various industries.

Dr. Akinrinmade who however calls on well meaning Nigerians to support the program also expressed her gratitude for the support received from the mentioned organizations.

She noted that such collaborations are vital in creating a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. “We are immensely grateful for the support from LASODA, Mushin Local Council Development Association, and Avila Naturalle. Their involvement is crucial in making this event a success,” she added.
