A young businessman and philanthropist, Hon. WeriboJotex an aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) seeking to represent Yenagoa Constituency III in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has vowed to bring the needed development through effective and quality representation if given the mandate come 2019.
Hon. WeriboJotex disclosed this to newsmen at the party secretariat while addressing hundreds of youths, women, party faithful and supporters who accompanied him to pick the party nomination and expression of interest form.
He said that his main focus will be proper representation, poverty eradication, and job creation, empowerment of youths and women and to ensure that development projects are attracted to the constituent.
The technocrat turned politician noted that as a contractor with AGIP and SPDC he will leverage on his connection in the oil sector to make sure that employment slots are given to the people of the oil bearing communities.
Hon. Weribo stated that through his efforts he was able to mobilized youths of the area to protest against AGIP for abandoning the GMoU previously signed with the cluster and a new one was later signed, adding that he was the first to give surveillance jobs to youths of the area and other jobs.
He said that other clans have tasted representation at the state Assembly except Okodia clan and appealed to stakeholders in the constituency to give Okodia clan the opportunity to represent the constituency in line with the zoning principle in the spirit of equity, fairness and inclusiveness in the area.
