An Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Metro, was on Friday shot with two other officers by unknown gunmen at Upper Sokponba Road by Albico Junction.

They were said to have been shot when suspected hoodlums sighted his team, who were on rescue mission to a troubled area around Muritala Mohammed Way, Idogbo and Ugbekun areas. These places have been infested by criminal gangs recently.

According to a police source, the unnamed officer has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
