The Chairman of the newly constituted Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger state, Professor Muhammad Sani Yahaya, has expressed satisfaction with the standard of facilities and learning environment of the institution.

He made the observation, while on an inspection tour of facilities at the institution as well as the school environment, just as he gave commendation to the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Abubakar A. Dzukogi for doing a good job.

Speaking further, Prof. Yahaya, said, “I wish to commend the Rector for exhibiting good leadership quality in the way and manner he has kept the school environment clean and maintaining facilities in good and functional condition. I urge him to keep up the good work”.

“I am greatly impressed with the standard and quality of facilities we have seen and a clean environment maintained by the school despite  the prevailing biting economic recession that has affected the effective running of every institutions in the country”, he opined.

Meanwhile, the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, has played host to members of the newly constituted Governing Council of the Polytechnic, who were in the institution to hold their first meeting since their inauguration in Abuja on May 11th, 2017.

The meeting was  held between  Monday, 12th June to Wednesday, 14th June, while the Council has also set July 19, 2017 as date for the interview to select the substantive Registrar and Bursar for the institution as the two positions are currently being occupied  by Mallam  Mohammed B. Ndana and Alhaji Omotosho Y. Yusuf,  in acting capacities.

The Nigerian Tribune however observed that the highlights of the council meeting include, meeting with the stakeholders such as academic board, Rector’s advisory committee, staff and students unions and approval of 2017 staff promotions.

Other highlights were inspection of facilities, environment and a courtesy visit on the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar at his Wadata Palace in Bida.

Consequently, the full list of the new Council include Prof. Mohammed Sani Yahaya (Chairman), Mr. E. F. Asubuiso (Rep. Fed. Min. of Education), Mallam Usman Abduillahi  Argungu, Mr. Orok Okor Duke, Engr. Yerima Bulama, Mal. Nasiru Isa, Alhaji Umar Edota (Host Community Rep.), Mal. Salisu Umar (Rep.  Manufacturers Association of Nigeria) and Mal. Idi Bamamu (Rep. NBTE).

Others are the principal officers of the Polytechnic.
