Fubara Finally Dumps PDP for APC

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fubara was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 to succeed Nyesom Wike who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

A state of emergency was imposed on Rivers Street early in the year to ensure peace in the oil rich state during a political upheaval.

The emergency rule lasted six months after which the democratic institution was restored.

Fubara announced his change of allegiance at a stakeholders meeting at the government house in Port Harcourt.
