FRSC, Lagos Sector, Gets New Commander

…as Ogungbemide resumes at NIPSS

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has gotten a news Sector Commander following the resumption of the former Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru Jos.

The new Commander is Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye, who has taking over the command and has since engaged in monitoring and ensuring smooth deployment of FRSC Lagos personnel in the ongoing elections.

Ogungbemide during his sojourn in FRSC Lagos Command for two years and eight months, the Command sustained its enviable apex position as best sector in Headquarters assessments, four times in consecutive sessions during his tenure. In addition, he won the 2022 Best Sector Commander Award.

In a statement on Wednesday, 1st March, 2023, the FRSC Public Education Officer, Superintendent Route Commander, Olabisi Sonusi, said that Ogungbemide in his farewell remarks, appreciated the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Sanwo-Olu, Lagosians and stakeholders for their support while in office, seeking that same cooperation be extended to the new Sector Commander.

Babatunde Farinloye, the new Commander is from Ilesa East Local Area of Osun State and happily married with children.

While addressing the Sector heads of departments, Officers and men during parade on Monday, 27th February, 2023, he said “nothing will change but all hands must on desk to ensure that Corps mandate is achieved”.

Farinloye, therefore, charged the staff not to lower the standard of taking Lagos Command to an enviable position during his tenure.

He attended Community Primary School in Kwara State, Erin Ile Secondary School also in Kwara State, and the Prestigious University of Lagos (Unilag), where he studied Educational Administration.

In a bid to empower his career capacity, he attended the following courses: Officers Basic Course in Awgu, Enugu, 1996, Train the trainers Course at FRSC Academy Jos, 2008 and Computer appreciation course at ESUT Enugu, 2012.

He was the Head (Driving Proficiency Centre) Marshal Inspectorate Training School, Owa Alero before his promotion to the rank of Corps Commander and he was posted as the Sector Commander FRSC Lagos Sector Command.
