Four killed in Ikorodu Sunday morning attack

The Lagos State Police Command has reported a murder incident at Oke Ota via Ibeshe, Ikorodu in the early hours of Sunday 30th July 2017.

In a release made available to National Wire and signed by the
Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, Police operatives responded to a distress call at Oke Ota, Ibeshe, Ikorodu area of Lagos State and mobilized to the scene where the police operatives found it extremely difficult to locate the house because of the terrain.

The distress call was said to have come from a building situated in a thick forest and was impossible to be identified.

Eventually the rescue team arrived at the scene on foot.

A family of five were reportedly attacked. The house where a family of five were attacked is a room and parlour apartment with one open window and no visible form of security.

According to the report, three people died on the spot, another victim died while receiving treatment at the hospital while the last member of the family is alive and responding to treatment.

As investigation commenced, no visible trace of violence or clue linked to any cultist group. No stone was found at the scene, a sign associated with the killer cult group terrorising the area.

A case of murder is being investigated by police detectives, which doesn’t fit in the modules of operandi of the cult group which was recently dislodged from the Ikorodu area.

The release read further that “The Lagos State Police Command is using this opportunity to call on LCDA, CDA Chairman, traditional rulers who may be aware of residents staying in isolated areas which are no longer safe, to report/identify with the police in order to stop people from dwelling in insecure areas without proper social structures.”

“The Command also wishes to inform members of the public to come forward with useful information to aid the police and not resort to jungle justice while investigation is ongoing in order not to jeopardise the investigation that may lead to the arrest of the alleged suspects who are on the command’s watch list.”
