Former Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai is dead

Former Governor of Taraba State, Mr. Danbaba Suntai, is dead, a local radio station Rhythm 93.7FM Lagos has announced.

Suntai, a former Governor of Taraba State, who died in the United States of America today was elected governor of the North Eastern state in 2007 and re-elected April 2011 for a second term all on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The trained pharmacist escaped with injuries when his helicopter crashed in Adamawa State 25^th October 2012. He was flown to the United States of America for treatment and later became unconscious.

Former Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr. Emmanuel Bello, confirmed the death in an interview in Abuja on Wednesday.

The former Commissioner who served while Suntai was Governor said the “former Governor died in the United States.”

Suntai, a 1984 graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria who passed today would have been 56 in two days.
