Former Attorney General of Lagos State and ex-Chair of the state’s Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Ayotunde Phillip, has been appointed into the newly-constituted FIFA Ethics Committee.
The appointment took place at the Congress of the world football governing body taking place in Manama, Bahrain.
Phillip, 68 was the fourth female Chief Judge of Lagos State. She studied Law at the University of Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1974.
She retired from the High Court Bench in July 2014 upon the attainment of the statutory retirement age of 65 years.
Twenty of Phillip’s 38 years service in Lagos State Government were spent on the High Court Bench.
The Nigeria Football Federation in a congratulatory tweet via its official handle @thenff felicitated with the retired Justice on her new appointment.
“Congratulations to Nigerian Judge, Justice Ayotunde Phillip who has just been appointed into the FIFA Ethics Committee,” the tweet stated.
