A female Corps Member has taken to the social media to narrate how she wrestled with a commercial motor cyclist, popularly called Okada rider, who attempted to rape her in an isolated part of the road from her place of primary assignment for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Explaining on Instagram, today, under the username,Snowwhite2911, Wannirebie Ayo said she had hired the Okada man for a ride to the secretariat, about 30 kilometers away and the man had complained of tummy trouble and asked to ease nature before the journey commenced.
The corps member, who did not name the location of the incident in her post, however, said the man complained again along the journey and asked to ease himself, which she obliged him, only to quickly return and asked how much the corps member wanted to tender for fare.
Ayo said the fare was supposed to be N300 and shouldn’t cause any disputes but was surprised when the man said she must pay N1,500.
The lady said when she sensed something was wrong, she demanded to be taken back to the departure location so she could take some money from a colleague and pay the rider the amount demanded and an extra N500 for taking her back.
“He refused and said he would take advantage of me if I didn’t pay him there, using the ‘f’ word. Then I got scared and started running away,” she narrated.
She said since it happened in a lonely part of the town and there were no houses and passersby, she was gripped with fear as the man engaged her in a chase and before she got hold of her and started man handling her.
“Then he dragged me and pushed me down to the bush corner, started rough handling me, hit me lips wit a blow. I started bleeding from the mouth, he tore my uniform.
“I was only shouting Jesus, Jesus save me, save me.Then at a point, he left me and drove off with his bike,” Ayo wrote her post, describing the incident as the greatest shock of her life.
She said the assailant didn’t take her money or phone.
Some of the NYSC related posts on her timeline suggested the incident happened in Bauch State but National Wire was unable to confirm this.
She, therefore, urged the government to scrap the scheme or stop posting corps members to remote places.
