Four people were reportedly killed in a clash between farmers and herders in Sabon Daga community of Bosso local government area of Niger state yesterday.
The clash resulted when some farmers attempted to denied herders and their cattle access to farmland.
Witnesses told National Wire on Tuesday in Minna the state capital that an argument had resulted between both parties, which later degenerated into bloody clash with casualties on both sides.

The clash was coming few days after cattle rustlers attacked Angwa Umadi Village in Shiroro local government area of the state, killing a Senior Secondary School (SSS) 2 student and wounding 15 others.
The Senator representing Niger East senatorial district,at the National Assembly Abuja, senator David Umaru had also recently appealed to the state government to put in place mechanism to halt the incessant bloodletting in the state, while disclosing that more than 400 lives were lost to attacks in his Zone alone last year.
Police Public Relations Ofiicer, Niger state command of the Nigeria Police force, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident to our reporter but feared that the casualty figures could have been more.
“Four corpses have so far been recovered, but security operatives are still combing the bushes around the area because the incident just happened and there could be more casualty”, he noted.
He however said the situation has been brought under control following a quick intervention by men of the Kpakugu police division with reinforcement from the command.
He also said Fulani and Gbagyi elders have been moblised and have called the meeting of their respective people in order to forestall the possibility of a backlash as well as finding a lasting solution such incident in future.
