Ex-Lagos Police PRO In Urgent Need of N25m For Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chike Godwin Oti, a respected officer known for his service as the former Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, now faces the toughest battle of his life, a fight for survival against end-stage renal disease.

ACP Oti, who recently took on the role of Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Railway Police Command, Ebutte Meta, Lagos, was diagnosed with 5th stage renal failure, also known as end-stage kidney disease, after a long struggle with unmitigated high blood pressure. His condition was confirmed at Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, where he was urgently advised that his only chance to stay alive is to undergo regular haemodialysis and, ultimately, a kidney transplant.

“My life now depends on twice-weekly haemodialysis sessions, but the financial burden is overwhelming,” ACP Oti shared in a heartfelt appeal. “I have already spent N3.5 million during my one-week stay at the hospital, but I still need to raise N25 million for a kidney transplant.”

For a man who has dedicated his life to serving the public and maintaining law and order, this is a devastating turn of events. His condition not only threatens his life but also places an unbearable financial strain on him and his family. Despite his status and years of service, the cost of treatment far exceeds his means.
