Friends, serving and retired colleagues, as well as family members of Dame (Mrs) Ibarafakumo Kalaiti, a healthcare provider who retired as Director of Health, Yenagoa council area of Bayelsa State on Tuesday poured encomiums on the latter as she celebrated her 60th birthday anniversary.
Speaking as chairman of the occasion, Director of Sports, Bayelsa State Sports Council, Mr Braveman Wodi described the celebrant as a unique fellow deserving Commendations for her meritorious services to the state and humanity.
He noted that at sixty, the celebrant has climbed the ladder of senior citizens, stating also that Dame (Mrs) Kalaiti never disappointed her family and state in her career as public servant, just as he also said the celebrant served the state and retired with an unblemished record.
Wodi urged others to emulate her lifestyle in their relationships with people, maintaining that Dame(Mrs) Kalaiti was worth celebrating after contributing much towards the advancement of society.
Also speaking the daughter, and Son of the celebrant, Barr.(Mrs) Ebi Kalaiti Oweibi, and Mr Kenneth Kalaiti, respectively described their mother and celebrant as very supportive and caring.
The duo recalled how their mum had been their support system for growth and development in both academics and career upon the demise of their father and bread winner, over three decades ago.
They said: “Our mum is supportive, she is caring and would do all she can to provide for us. She has been our major support system in our academic and career pursuit.
“Our mum has all the expected qualities of a virtuous woman. She’s hardworking, she thought us discipline and provided for us and all her other children, our siblings. Our mum is worth celebrating after giving her all for us.”
In their separate goodwill messages, the celebrant’s colleagues, the Medical and Health workers union(MHWUN), Yenagoa Local Government chapter who spoke through Dr Albert Wisdom described the celebrant as an epitome of kindness, saying she is a professional who showed high level of commitment and dedication to work during her years in active service.
Others who poured encomiums on the celebrant included her bosom friend, Lady Zidubadou Simeni, Chief Goday Otobotekere, Dame Tonbara Kenigbolo who spoke on behalf of Knights, and Lady Grace Fiepere, amongst others.
While giving her closing remarks, the celebrant thanked invitees, her colleagues, friends, and others in attendance for creating time out of their very tight schedules to honour her.
She also lauded her children for being honest with her in all their relationship with her as mother, saying God gave her an honest children who never deceived her while pursuing their academics and careers.
