Estranged Wife Kills Ex-Husband

The Kebbi State Police Command are trying to unravel the involvement of a 30-year-old Farida Abubakar for allegedly involved in the death of her former husband.

According to the spokesperson of the Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar said in a statement on Friday that about 2140 hrs on the 25th August, 2022, Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Gwadangaji, received an information that a suspected strange noise was heard from the house of a neighbour identified as one Attahiru Ibrahim, a male of Alieru Quarters, Birnin Kebbi.

Also, it was revealed that the gate of the house was locked when the noise was heard. However, on receipt of the information, a team of Policemen were swiftly mobilized to the scene and forced the gate opened where they found the said Attahiru Ibrahim lying down in pool of his own blood and was later confirmed dead by a medical Doctor.

However, the estranged wife, Farida Abubakar was also found inside the compound.

She was promptly arrested as a prime suspect in the murder of the former husband. Investigation is ongoing to know her culpability or otherwise in the murder.

Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora had directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to SCID, Birnin Kebbi, for discreet investigation with a view to unravelling the circumstances surrounding the ugly incident.
