Driver, receivers of stolen goods nabbed in Lagos

The operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters Onikan, Lagos have arrested a driver, Ibrahim Musa and his accomplice, Mohammed Jazuli. The duo have been on the run since August 23,2016 for diverting and stealing a 2 by 20 feet container truck containing High Density Polythene products.

The owner of the stolen products and Managing Director of I.G Acoman Limited of No 13, Commercial Road, Apapa, Lagos, submitted a petition to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in the case of diversion and stealing of the said product with container No IPXU 3851370 AND FCIU 2589517, and the matter was referred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Zone to track down the said driver and his accomplices.

According to the release made available by the Zonal PPRO, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, the police detectives swung into action immediately and arrested the driver with his accomplice in Katsina State.

The suspects realising there was nowhere to hide again, confessed to the crime and revealed the identities of the receivers of the stolen items that were sold at Mile 2 in Lagos State, while the said Fiat truck with Reg.No LAGOS BDG 672 XK and container used for the criminal act were abandoned and recovered at Mowe in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The principal offender,Tunde Omowunmi, a notorious criminal that conspired with the driver, Ibrahim Musa,and the receivers namely FATIMA ABDULKAREEM, IYABO AZEEZ,  and IYABO OLAIYA, all females have been arrested and charged to court on Wednesday October 5,2016 in Lagos.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of zone 2 Command,AIG Abdulmajid Ali has once again passed a message accrossed to criminals and criminal minded people that his zone his a no go area for them.

He also assured the general public of his commitment to tackle violent crimes and social vices within the zone and promised to promote principles of community policing and professional ethics in the Nigeria Police Force as contained in the Democratic Policing Values of the Inspector-General of Police,IGP Ibrahim Idris.
