Special Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Dr Jackson Ebi Suokiri has again praised achievements of the Governor Diri led ‘ASSURED Prosperity’ administration.
The governor’s aide who spoke on the backdrop of the just concluded 5th year in office anniversary of the governor noted that the Bayelsa State Chief Executive is a leader ‘Par excellent’.
Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, Tuesday, Suokiri described the governor’s achievements as unparallel in the anals of project execution and programmes implementation by successive administrations in the state.
He noted that the governor has outperformed the expectations of Bayelsans in all facet of his administration during the past five years that he has been leading the state.
Suokiri who stated that governor Diri has opened up Yenagoa with massive infrastructural projects described the governor as ‘the best thing that has happened to the state’.
He said: “As we speak, Governor Douye Diri has connected the state capital with major high ways and streets in all parts. His infrastructural projects are everywhere in Yenagoa, the State capital.
“You can see the ongoing construction of the new bridge at Imgbi road which will further connect other major roads in the state capital.
”Today you can drive from the seat of power or any other part down Yenagoa to Igbogene, and then drive out of the State without seeing the ever busy Melford Okilo and Major Isaac Boro Express roads.
“For the Senatorial road, from inception the governor knows what we need as Bayelsans, as Ijaws who live in the creeks, and so he is taking roads, big ticket road projects to the Atlantic ocean through the three Senatorial roads to Brass, Koluama and Agge”.
He added: “But more importantly is that, the governor is very tolerant. He doesn’t believe in joining issues with people. You can step on his toes and rather than ask why do you do this or that to me? He just doesn’t care.
“Under Governor Diri, there has been political tolerance, and that is why the state is very peaceful, and so there’s overwhelming political tolerance because we’ve a leader who is very peaceful.
“One principle thing is governor Diri’s ability to respond to the socio-economic challenges of the State. And in terms of human capital development, his scorecard is rich. He has done marvelously, excellently well”.
