Bayelsa stare Governor, seriake Dickson Saturday restated his resolve to put finishing touches to the state own International Airport for commissioning before he exits office,February.
Dickson who made the promise at the Award ceremony and dinner held to commemorate the first Governor Seriake Dickson’s Golf championship in Yenagoa noted that save for some politically motivated issues the Airport would have since been commissioned and put to use.
The Governor mentioned that his administration was committed to making the state a tourists delight,noting that it was with this in mind that he constructed the Golf course and the polo club in the heart of Yenagoa,pledging that in no distant time the Government would be hosting the first Bayelsa state polo tournament in Yenagoa.
The Bayelsa Governor commended all participant for displaying their talents and skills,saying their love and believe in the state and his adminidtration was shown in their desire to participate in the tournament.
” Following our resolve to make the state a tourist centre by bringing the world to Bayelsa and Bayelsa to the world, our administration, my team and I. See them,all the able men and women seated here,they can function in any part of the world.We decided to set the pace for development of this state.We built and constructed these facilities, very soon,before the next 2-3weeks we’ll also be here to host the first Bayelsa polo tournament at the state polo club directly opposite the Golf course.”He said.
He charged successive administrations of the state coming after his tenure to continue improving on what has been put on ground,advising that the incompleted Tennis course his administration started and others be not left without giving attention to.
“His Excellencey asked if we have completed the Tennis course,but you know we have started it.Government is a continuous process, after my administration I believe any incoming Government should do something about what’s been put on ground.One Government, not even in one tenure or two tenures can we do everything,so other Governments would do their parts to drive the development processes of the state.” He said.
The Governor Seriake Dickson’s Golf championship featured both professional golfers classics, the Amature and veterans sessions just as different categories of awards were also given to winners and others.
You would recall that the Governor Seriake Dickson’s administration is expected to handover to a new Government next month, February, 14th.
