Access Bank plc has issued a release that by 1st of March 2020 cheques of its recently acquired Diamond Bank would no longer be valid for clearing.
The release issued via the electronic mail reads that,
“As directed by Access Bank, please kindly be informed that effective March 01, 2020, Diamond Bank cheques will no longer be valid for clearing.”
This directive is a nationwide order which holds across its branches around Nigeria where such cheques have been honoured ever since the two banks signed the agreement to work together.
“In addition, Diamond Bank cheques will no longer be accepted at any of our branches, from February 27, 2020,” the release read further.
The bank has however called on Nigerians to ask for more information on its dedicated phone line.
“For more information, please visit any of our branches nationwide, or call us on 01-4485252,” it concluded.
Access Bank and Diamond bank now operate under the Access Bank since the two financial institutions went into agreement to strengthen ties.
