Delta Police Nabs Kidnappers, Robbers With Barrel, Drugs

The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Oghenefegor Francis, a 28 years old indigene of Aradhe community in Delta State.

The suspect was said to be the leader of a six-man gang who allegedly kidnapped one Williams Aduenwomah ‘m’ of Ozoro Community on the 27th March, 2021.

Spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Edafe Bright who confirmed the arrest on Wednesday said the suspect was arrested on the 20th April, 2021 about 0200hrs, after a tip off.

The operation which was led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ozoro, CSP Ogedengbe Areguamen Ozoro with the assistance of some vigilantes, stormed their criminal hideout at Aradhe community and arrested four of the gang members.

DSP Bright explained that the Command Delta State CP Ari Muhammed Ali has vowed to reduce crime in the state, even as he has continued to raid and go after criminal elements in the state.

Similarly, on the 20th April, 2021 about 1830hrs, the Divisional Police Officer ‘A’ Division, Warri, CSP T.Y Mahmud mobilized Quick Response Team and trailed and arrested one Nnachi Cypraim ‘m’ who happens to be one of the prime suspects after the arrested gang members had confessed his involvement.

According to the armed robbery gang leader, Gift Famous ‘m’ popularly known as “Bubune” who was earlier arrested, said the suspect Nnachi Cypraim ‘m’ who hails from Afikpo LGA of Ebonyi State was arrested at Shoprite Warri in connection with series of car snatch at gun point.

The suspect allegedly confessed and identified Bubune as being his friends and inmate at Oko Prisons in Benin.

The suspect further led the team to Otokutu in recovery of snatched/stolen Toyota Camry car with Reg. No. FKJ 86 ET gold in colour which was fraudulently changed to black colour.

Other exhibits recovered included a forged international driver license with the name and picture of Bubune.

In another development, about 0830hrs on the same day, men of the ‘A’ Division, Asaba, while on stop and search intercepted one Lezus 330 with Reg No: GWA 303 BF.

The suspect on sighting the police, made a u-turn in a bid to escape, but was unlucky as the Patrol and guard officer, ASP Awosika Olabode mobilized the patrol team and gave him a hot chase.

As a result, One kenneth Edemba ‘m’ 52yrs and Chukwuemeka Edemba ‘m’ age 25 years old, who were the occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

On searching the vehicle, one live cartridge, one sachet of tramadol and 14 different phone patches were recovered. Investigations are still on-going.
