Renowned Nigerian entrepreneur and founder of defunct Diamond Bank, Pascal Dozie, has passed away at the age of 86.
Family sources confirmed that Dozie died following complications related to old age.
Born on April 9, 1939, in Egbu, Owerri, Imo State, Dozie was a distinguished figure in Nigeria’s financial and business sectors. He earned a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and later obtained a Master’s in Administrative Science from City University, London.
In addition to founding Diamond Bank, Dozie also established the African Development Consulting Group, which provided consultancy services to top multinational companies, including Nestlé and Pfizer. He served as the Chairman of MTN Nigeria before stepping down and handing over to Ernest Ndukwe. He also chaired the board of Pan-Atlantic University.
For his outstanding contributions to the banking industry and national development, Dozie was honored with the national title of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
He is survived by his wife, Chinyere Dozie, five children, and numerous relatives and associates.
