CP Niger  Ayodele J. Ogundeji Embarks On Visit Of Kontagora Emirate  On Familiarization  Tour

The Commissioner of Police Niger State Command,CP Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji has embarked on familiarization visit to Kontagora Emirate Council of the state  on Tuesday, where he paid courtesy call on the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora,  His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Barau Muazu II,  and members of the Emirate Council.

This was in cotinuation of CP Ayodeji’s familiarization tour of the Police formations in the state and during his remarks, the Police Boss asserted that he would have visited  the Emirate Council earlier since his assumption of duty in October last year, but due to the recent electoral activities in the country including the state  and other official engagements, he couldn’t.

He said he was in the palace to seek for the blessings of the Traditional ruler and cooperation of the Emirate Council towards fighting crimes and criminalities in the State,  noting  that he was familiar with the terrain as he was a former  Area Commander Kotangora in 2017and reiterated that Kontagora has been  relatively peaceful since his assumption of office as the State’s Police Commissioner adding that  he would continue to do the needful to sustain the situation.

In his response, the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Barau Mu’azu 11, welcomed the CP and his entourage and described it as homecoming, hilighting that the CP’s visit wass also a blessing to the Emirate which covers Wushishi, Kontagora, Mashegu, Mariga, Magama, and Rijau Local Government Areas of the State .

He thereby requested among other things:  the deployment of more special forces to the area for security,
request  for more logistics support and operational vehicles and reactivation of active PCRC and efficient contact with the Community including constant community engagement through frequent meetings with stakeholders.

Thereafter, the  CP  had an interactive session with officers and men of Kontagora Area Command, where he implored them to be  discipline, exhibition of commitment to their jobs  and dedication to duty, as well as refrained from acts of incivility and  zero tolerance to corruption, including operational tactics, raiding of criminal hideouts among others.

CP Ayodeji also admonished vigilante corps to work with their various Divissioanal Police Officers and avail the DPOs of their activities for proper guidance, just as he warned them against establishment of detention centers adding that they should hand over suspects arrested to the Police for diligent investigation and prosecution.

The Police Boss thereby  expressed his appreciation to Vigilante Corps   for their efforts in assisting the Police, and other security agencies for their synergy as he commanded other stakeholders such as PCRC, NURTW, Miyetti Allah, NARTO and Trades Union.
