CP Kolo Warns Area Commanders, DPOs Against Hobnobbing With Criminals

The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP kolo Yusuf has warned police personnel to desist from fraternizing with bandits, kidnappers or any criminal syndicate as defaulters would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

In a statement on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, explained that the CP implores them to be professional and show greater commitment to duty
as efforts are on to stem the tide of banditry, kidnapping and other related crimes.

CP Kolo spoke on Thursday when he with members of the management team met with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders and other officers and men for an extensive interactive lecture session in preparation of the peaceful conduct of political activities for 2023 General Elections.

During the lecture, the CP informed officers and men of the commencement of campaigns/rallies and other political activities for 2023 General Election.

Particularly, he tasked officers, especially Area Commanders and DPOs to ensure that all quasi – security outfits established by various state governments and local communities operating under different nomenclatures are banned from partaking in any electioneering campaign and other electoral processes as directed by the IGP, as the outfits have no legal roles under the Electoral Act.

On the social media policy of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the CP warned officers and men to ensure absolute compliance of the directives.

Other matters relating to the overall security and safety of Zamfara state were extensively discussed, and all the officers and men have reiterated their loyalty and resolve to work assiduously to ensure peace and security before, during and after the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.
