Covid-19 NOWA Provides Relief Materials To 200 Widow, Falling Heroes Wives

Over  two hundred widows have been presented with food items, hand Sanitizers, and other relief materials, by the Naval Officers Wives Association of Nigeria  NOWA, to help them pull through the ‘sit at home period’ as a measure by government to curtail the spread of Covid-19.
The National President of the  Association, Mrs Theresa Ibas, made this known while presenting the relief materials to the widows, in  Lagos.
Mrs. Theresa Ibas said the essence of the programme was to bring succor to the widows of the fallen heroes in order to cushion the effect of the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mrs. Ibas who described the period of the pandemic as a difficult time for the widows, especially without their husbands who were the bread winners, said the period had prevented the widows from engaging in their small businesses. due to the lockdown.
The NOWA National President, pointed out that as a none governmental organization,  NOWA, was ready and willing to  positively assist its own especially at this tough period.
Ibas,  who pointed out that though it was not easy for some of the widows who had been surviving on their petty businesses on daily basis to stay indoors and idle, encouraged them to use the relief materials to tide over the period of the lockdown.
Three widows who gave their  names as, Mrs. Pricillia Okechukwu, Mrs. Victoria Elegbeleye and Mrs. Esther Omokwale, thanked the National President of Nowa for remembering them in this period of difficulty, adding  that since they lost their husbands, the association had been there for them.
Ibas said kind gesture would be extended to wives of their fallen Heroes in other states across the country,  to help cushion the effect of the lockdown order by the government to halt the spread of the Coronavirus disease.
The well attended event was graced by the executive members and other members of NOWA in Lagos including Mrs. Adenike Enoch.
