CNS Urges NOWA President To Broaden Engagements With Wives Of Ratings

As the National President of the Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), Mrs Aisha Idi Abbas, led its members to pay a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abass has urged them to broaden its engagements to include the wives of ratings and to intensify philanthropic activities.

The visit which took place on Friday, 28th November, 2025, in her remarks, Mrs Abbas expressed appreciation to the CNS for the warm reception and traced the positive history and impact of the association on the families and homes of naval officers.

She stated that she would work with her executives to further improve on the positive image of the association.

In particular, the NOWA President outlined several initiatives that would be put in place to ensure that officers’ wives and families have a veritable social safety system that caters for all.

However, she solicited the continued support of the CNS for association’s programmes and initiatives.

In response, Vice Admiral Abbas commended the NOWA National President for the visit and encouraged the association to continue providing steadfast support to naval personnel and their families.
