Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria,CITN, Yenagoa and District society at the weekend inaugurated new executives to run the affairs of the organisation.
Speaking at the investiture ceremony of the executive held alongside the annual Dinner of the CITN in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital,Special Guest of honour who doubles as National President and Chairman of Council,CITN, Dame Gladys Simplice applauded members of the Yenagoa and District Society of the Institute for demonstrating their commitment to ethical practice and conduct.
The National President eulogised members for turning en masse for the investiture, saying the outgone chairmen of the institute in the state all worked hard to build the body in the state.
“All the former chairmen of CITN in the state contributed to the growth of the institute in the state. Their contributions will forever be remembered.” She said.
Simplice enjoined members to give the executives the support needed to move the organisation to greater heights,harping that the success and otherwise of the institute depend largely on the cooperation and contributions of members.
Giving his opening remarks,Chairman of the occasion and Special Adviser to the Bayelsa state Governor on Treasury, Accounts and Revenue,Mr Timipre Seipulou commended members and the executives of the institute for their cordial relationship with the state Government and his office in discharging their duties,saying most of the accounting and Revenue staffs of the Government are members of the institute.
Seipulou promised better working relationship with the new executive,restating that he would regularly be in touch with them for synergy.
In his investiture speech, chairman,Yenagoa and District society of CITN, Mr Nengimote Ayerite lauded the outgone chairman of the Yenagoa and District Society, Pastor Tonye Apiri and his predecessor Mrs Anthonia Koroye for their impacts on the association, stressing that himself and the Executives would not disappoint the institute.
Ayerite pledged to work towards kick starting the process of building a secretariat complex for the association amongst other projects he said his executive intend to execute during their tenure in office.
Those invested to serve alongside the Yenagoa and District Society chairman in the executive include, Mr Robert Lokoson as Vice chairman, Mr Azebi Bestman,Deputy vice chairman and Mr Akpe Oyinkarebai as Secretary General.
Others are, Esther Ebiware,Assistant Secretary General, Mr Oworibo, Oworibo serves as Financial Secretary, Mrs Pauline Sawyer, Honorary Treasurer,while the immediate past chairman, Pastor Tonye Apiri is to serve as Ex-Officio 1 while his predecessor, Mrs Anthonia Koroye is serving as Ex-Officio 2 respectively. Just as Mr Niyi Arepo and Barrister Kwokwo Ikuromo are holding the positions of Social and publicity secretary and Legal Adviser respectively.
