CITN, FICAN Collaborate To Enhance Tax Reporting Among Journalists

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) is set to host a one-day workshop on December 4, 2024, to equip finance journalists with knowledge on emerging tax matters.

The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN), aims to improve journalists’ understanding of taxation terminologies and contemporary issues.

The workshop will feature a press briefing by CITN President, Mr. Samuel Agbeluyi, and presentations by three resource persons on the following topics:

– *Basic Taxation Terminologies*
– *Tax Administration and Practice for Beginners*
– *Tax Reporting for Media Practitioners*

The initiative is designed to deepen journalists’ understanding of tax-related issues and enhance the quality of tax reporting in Nigeria. Participants will receive certificates and the Institute’s memorabilia, and an annual award for the Best Tax Reporter/Correspondent of the Year will be instituted.
