Buratai To Storm Katsina, Zamfara To Tame Bandit’s Madness

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai has assured troops of the Nigerian army that he will soon join them in Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara states to put the madness of the bandits operating in those axis in proper check.

While enjoining them to be committed in the fight against terrorists and bandits, he expressed satisfaction with the troops for their resilience and bravery at dealing with Boko Haram insurgents and
the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) group that attacked Monguno town on Saturday.

According to the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa said on Sunday in Abuja that “the COAS was highly impressed by the high number of casualties inflicted on the insurgents and the number of Boko Haram terrorists and equipment that were either captured or destroyed by the gallant troops with the support of the Air Task Force.

While urging them to remain firm and resolute in containing the threat finally,
the COAS charged the Commander Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) to consistently engage in massive offensive patrols to all identified terrorists’ locations and enclaves within the theatre to ensure that the terrorists are denied freedom of action and eliminated.

Buratai also applauded the performance of the troops in the ongoing operations ACCORD and HADARIN DAJI, reiterating that they should sustain the momentum.
