Buhari Has Abandoned APC In Rivers State–Party Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chidi Lloyd, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of abandoning members of the ruling party in Rivers State.

He was guesting on the Lagos-based Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday evening when he said the plight of his party in the state was due to the support members gave to the President in 2015.

According to him, because the President’s did not support his party, the governorship election in the state was manipulated till the exercise was declared inconclusive.

“Jocye Akaniwon was sent to Ahoada West  to preside over an election, just like several other known Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) members.

“Oboh Ekpaga and Professor Yakubu Mamhood doctored the elections result in the Rivers State Governor’s office and the President keeps watching from Abuja as Rivers people kill themselves,” Lloyd claimed as he displayed before the camera photographs of electoral officials he said were known PDP members.

His party, the APC, had been prohibited by a court pronouncement from fielding a candidate in the governorship election in the state governed by the PDP.

Lloyd, however, said the party declared its support for the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) who was “leading in the election before the ruling party in the state started the manipulation.”

It took several failed attempts by the program anchor, Seun Okinbaloye, to rein in the party chieftain from making weighty allegations against the President and the Rivers State Governor, Nyeson Wike.

“Our state is now one known for exporting heads. One known for beheading people. Cultists are now in government positions in the state.

“The President is just sitting and watching in Abuja while Rivers State people are being killed,” he said, insisting he has the proof of his claims.

Lloyd, who dominated most of the proceedings as the anchor’s attempts to pause him over what the journalist considered unsubstantiated often proved abortive, said Rivers indigens are already calling for the elections result to be released.
