Buhari Appoints New CEO For NEPC

 

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday has approved a new Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer for the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).

The organisation’s Director, Policy and Strategy, Dr. Ezra Yakusak is now the new CEO of the agency promoting Nigeria’s non-oil export.

According to a release from the Presidency, Yakusak’s appointment is for an initial term of four years in accordance with the provision of Section 7 (1) of the NEPC (Establishment) Act, 1987.

The release also stated that the appointment is with effect from 27th November, 2021.

Yakusak holds a PhD in Commercial Law from the Ahmadu Bello University and has served as Secretary to the Governing Board of the Council.

Outgoing CEO, Mr. Olusegun Awolowo resumed as head of the organisation in 2013 and has brought several reforms to the agency.

In July 2021, he was unanimously elected as the President of National Trade Promotion Organizations (TPOs) from ECOWAS member States.
