A petrol tanker this evening along Lagos-Ibadan expressway has exploded around the popular Otedola Bridge.
According to eye witness report, many cars have been burnt and many lives lost Thursday evening as travelers were returning to Lagos and workers heading home in the usual evening traffic.
Men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos Fire Service have been mobilized to the scene and already bringing the situation under control.
About 30 vehicles were involved in the inferno. The Federal Road Safety Commission has warned commuters to stay off the area.
As at the time of filing on this report, thick smoke still filled the air.
Lagos residents have continued to call family members and friends who operate around the Berger area to ascertain their safety.
