The Bayelsa State police command, Monday, commended the Inspector General of police, Ibrahim Idris.
In a press release entitled ‘creating a new crime reduction framework in Bayelsa State’ the state commissioner of police, Don Awunah described the IGP as a courageous apostle of democratic policing.
Pouring encomiums on the IG, CP Awunah posited that since the inception of office of the IG , Ibrahim Idris has brought his international exposure, experience and professionalism to bare on the internal security of Nigeria, emphasizing that the Bayelsa State police command is loyal and faithful to the IGP in a his quest at securing lives and properties in the country.
While thanking the Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson on his Assistance and provision of security infrastructure and support to the police in their resolve to combating crime, Awunah said the faith based organizations, Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil liberty organization as well as others have played roles in helping the police to curb crime in the state.
According to the Commissioner of Police, since the commencement of the state’s police command crime bursting strategy , tagged , ‘OPERATION SAFER BAYELSA‘ there has been drastic reduction of crime rate in the state.
