Bayelsa PASAN Elects New Exco

Parliamentary staff  association of Nigeria,PASAN Bayelsa state House of Assembly chapter at the weekend elected new executives to lead their union.

The association’s election which had four members contesting for chairmanship position saw Mr Boloupre Ere clinching it, scoring 83 votes leaving Mr Ebipadei  Miebaikedo who polled 56,Mr Ati Moses 46 and Mr Ekakara Ebiotu who had 38 votes
as first, second and third runners up respectively.
Swearing in the new executives, the duo of the national president of the association,comrade Muhammed Usmam and south-south zonal vice President, comrade Louis Okeleke charged them to lead according to the expectations of the association.
Usman and Okeleke advised the newly elected leadership to use their position to better the lots of members, saying the essence of PASAN is to work for the welfare of members.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after the new executives have been sworn-in outgoing chairman of the state chapter, Reginald Simeon commended members for the support given him during his tenure,stressing that the new executives have the capacity to take the association to greater heights.
According to the outgoing chairman, some of the achievements recording in his tenure include amongst others, pioneering as chairman of the state chapter by registering the association as an affiliate Union of the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC. Simeon noted that under his leadership members of the association participated in various national workshops and seminars organized for legislative Houses staffs.
Also speaking, newly elected chairman, comrade Boloupre Ere promised to carry every member along in his tenure, noting that members interest would be protected at all times,saying he would consult constantly with his executives to make the association  better than it was handed over to them by the outgone chairman.
Others elected as executives include comrade Mrs Philomina Garry as vice chairman while comrade, Warebi Apah was elected as Secretary.
Comrade Blessing  Igrubia was elected unopposed as assistant Secretary just as the chapter’s former chairman, Reginald Simeon was elevated to the position of Ex-officio, South-South zone while comrade David Tariworio is to serve as Publicity secretary.
Other executive elected unopposed are comrade Esther  Ebhela, Treasurer, Jenifer Oweisana is to serve as social secretary, while comrade Stephen  Edoghotu serves as welfare secretary.
