Banker Arrested For Stealing N18 Million From ATM Machine

Philips Orumade, a banker with First Bank Plc, Aduwawa branch in Benin City, Edo State will be regretting now why he had to steal N18,900,000 from the Automated Teller Mechine (ATM).

The Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) arrested Orumade, for allegedly removing the Money from the mechine.

It was learnt that the suspect was in charge of the ATM gallery keys at Aduwawa branch of the bank, but on November 3 , 2019, he allegedly disappeared with the said amount and efforts to trace him proved abortive.

Investigations, however, revealed that the suspect was captured by the CCTV footage walking into the ATM gallery, before using a nylon bag to cover the CCTV. The suspect has been on the run and was recently apprehended in Lagos.

EFCC revealed that he has made useful statements and would be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed
