Atiku Carries Campaign To Babangida, keeps Mum

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Thursday  in Minna, Niger state capital , held a closed door parley with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida at his Uphill Mansion.

Atiku who was smiling broadly on his arrival at the Uphill mansion of the former leader in Minna was however downcast, wearing long face on his way out of the almost  two and half  hours  meeting which started at about 12:45pm.

The meeting which may not be unconnected with the Presidential ambition  of the former number two citizen may not have gone down well with the Wakilin Adamawa

Even the immediate governor of Niger state, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu equally wore long face. He was part of the meeting for about 45 minutes before he was excused out of the meeting.

The PDP presidential aspirant arrived Minna International airport at exactly 12 noon on board a chartered flight marked T7-AAA wearing grey coloured flowing gown ( babanriga) .

National Wire  gathered that the former Vice President was  earlier scheduled  to visit the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello  at the Government House, Minna  and another scheduled visit to the Niger state Secretariat of the PDP with the view  to address party faithfuls were cancelled.

Party faithfuls who had mobilized to the airport to receive the presidential hopeful were grossly disappointed when Atiku could not honour them with a smile.

Both at the IBB’s house and at the airport, the former vice president refused to speak with journalists. A security aide to Atiku told journalists that he would not speak to the press.

His visit however drew quite a number of political bigwigs in Niger state even from the ruling APC. His aircraft departed Minna at about 4: 35 pm.
