Assailant kills Bayelsa’s former PDP Chair

The political family in Bayelsa State has continued to mourn the death of a former Acting Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Pami Hobobo.

Police spokesman in the state Asinim Butswat confirmed the assassination today in Yenagoa, the state capital.

“One Pamo Christopher Hobobo of PDP Road, Yenagoa was found dead in his house at about 7000hrs today (Wednesday).

“Preliminary investigation revealed he was stabbed on the chest with a sharp object.

“His corpse has been deposited at FMC Yenagoa for autopsy and investigation is ongoing,” Mr. Butswat told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to NAN, the deceased, a native of Agbere in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state was assassinated in his house located at Yenizue-Gene.

According to reports, the assailants gained entrance into Hobobo’s house after pulling down the burglar proof by the door. Nothing was removed from the apartment which further established an assassination case.

The former PDP’s Acting Chairman’s neighbours had alerted the police after hearing sound of gunshots. His death was confirmed today, Thursday.
