Army Arrest Six Fake Soldiers In Asaba

The days individuals wear the toga of what they are not are fast diminishing as troops of Operation Delta Hawk (OPDH) in Delta State acting on intelligence report, have arrested six suspected Army imposters along Midwifery school Road at Okpanam General area of Asaba, Delta state.

The incident which took place on Tuesday, 23 February, 2021 about 11:10 pm, had the suspects identified as Mr Nwokoye Chidera Emmanuel, 20; Mr Nwokoye Francis, 24; Mr Chigozie Arinze, 23; Mr Kingsley Ndukuba, 32; Mr Chidera Anichukwu, 21; and Mr Chinedu Akwali aged 29 years.

Confirming the arrest and subsequent parade of the suspects, the Director, Army Public Relations, (DAPR), Brigadier General
Mohammed Yerima disclosed that the following items were recovered from them.

They include: 1× Mercedes Benz GL350; 1× Toyota Corolla with registration number ABJ 49 AA ABUJA, 1× Fabric Nationale bayonet and pairs of military kits from one of the suspects, Mr Chidera who claimed to be a Cadet from Southern Maritime Academy at Ughelli, Delta state.

He confessed to have gotten the Military kits from one Mr Hassan nicknamed (Commander).

Meanwhile, the suspects have been handed over to 63 Brigade Military Police Group for further investigation and prosecution.

As a result, the Brigade has called on the general public and law abiding citizens of the state to be weary of such people who parade themselves as military personnel and should report any suspicious person(s) to any nearest military formation/security agencies.
