Armed robbery suspects reigning terror on arepo apprehend

Men of Ogun State Police Command recenntly arrested two armed-robbery suspects who are members of a robbery gang terrorizing motorists on the long bridge in arepo area of Ogun state along the Lagos-Ibadan express road.The suspects were caught red handed while attempting to rob their victims.According to the state Public Relations Officer, ASP Oyeyemi Abimbola, the victims sensing they were in danger on sighting the suspects, sent a distress call to the Police and DPO Warewa Division, SP Akinola Eludini who was at the other end of the bridge with his anti-robbery team on surveillance patrol, quickly raced to the scene.On sighting the Policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels but two of the gang members were apprehended while others escaped.The two suspects,Ibrahim Yusuf and Uche Onwuemea are currently undergoing interrogation and are already helping the police on how to apprehend their other gang members.Meanwhile, in view of the ongoing construction works along Lagos-Ibadan express road and the criminal intentions of some people, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the deployment of more Police operatives along that axis especially the arepo long bridge in order to ensure adequate security for people plying that road.CP Ahmed Iliyasu also appealed to members of the Public to always give necessary and timely information to the Police whenever a strange movement is noticed.
