APC Primaries: Niger Delta Ex-Militants Lobby For Lyon

Ex-Niger Delta militant leaders of Bayelsa state origin say they are behind business tycoon, David Lyon’s governorship aspiration in the November 16th gubernatorial race.

Speaking to newsmen Thursday in Yenagoa, one of the repentant militant, Reuben Wilson said the reason for their support and preference for Lyon’s ambition is primarily due to his philanthropy and humanitarian approach in solving the problems of unemployment in the state through his business concerns.

Wilson whose militant name is general pastor while reiterating the need for peaceful, free and fair election in the primaries and governorship polls called on members of the All Progressives Congress to look beyond mere political leanings in choosing who becomes the party’s standard bearer in the scheduled primaries, harping that aspirant’s Southern Ijaw local government area is the largest in landmark in the state.

The erstwhile agitator emphasized that if Lyon emerges as the APC guber candidate victory will not elude the party in the forth coming governorship polls.
