Agbura Monarch Buries Dad, Eulogizes Virtues

The paramount ruler of Agbura community in Yenagoa local Government area of Bayelsa state, his royal highness, E.N. Daufa (Ikile viii) Saturday buried his late father and oldest man in Agbura community, Elder Tubonamnabo Osain Obeba.

Eulogizing his late father as a man whose qualities are worthy of emulating, the traditional ruler said during the 120 years of the existence of the late centenarian there was never a day he would not pay him visit to know how he was fairing as a son, describing his late father as a caring man even in his dot age.

According to the monarch, his late father born in 1899 was amongst those who first traded in palm oil and other agricultural produce with the United African company(UAC) in the colonial era, asserting that he has not only played the fatherly roles he was noted for but was also his role model.

While thanking the Agbura and neighboring Otuokpoti communities and sympathizers for coming to celebrate the peaceful passage of his father, the royal father maintained that though he still misses his father, he thank God he lived a God fearing life, pleading that others emulate his lifestyle.

It would be recalled that the late elder Tubonamnabo Osain Obebe buried on Saturday in Agbura community at the age of 120 years according to sources made early contacts with the colonial white traders for his business concerns in and around the Niger Delta region.
