As the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) continues activities at its ongoing 70th Convention themed “Perfect Jubilee”, the mission has not left behind the principles of good hygiene and sanitation.
Playing host to several hundreds of thousand participants from Nigeria and many other countries, there is the possibility of overstretching of facilities at the camp ground but the organisers are fully prepared ahead to take in the multitude.
Meanwhile, the church this time has been carrying out inspection of hostels to ensure cleanliness in the camp during the week-long event.
Before his sermon on Thursday, day four of the convention, General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor E. A. Adeboye emphasised the need for cleanliness in the camp.
“Cleanliness is next to godliness. The almighty God is walking in our camp and he must not see any unclean thing in our midst,” he said.
However, he announced the cleanest and dirtiest hostels in order to motivate participants on cleanliness.
Meanwhile, Adeboye announced the cleanest and dirtiest hostels as of Thursday.
Announcing the results, the General Overseer said, “The cleanest according to the report up till today, is Oyo Province 4, followed by River Province 7, third is Lagos Province 3.”
Announcing the dirtiest hostel and the delegates occupying them, Adeboye said, “Number 3 from the bottom is FCT Central Parish. Can you believe that? Second from the bottom is Ondo Province 1 and the dirtiest of all is Lagos Province 58.”
He however enjoined delegated taking accommodation in the camp for the period of the convention to ensure the cleanliness of their accommodation.
“Go and tidy up your premises, take good care,” he said.
Meanwhile, several testimonies have been pouring in daily at the 70th anniversary convention including creative miracles, financial supplies, fruitfulness, healings etc.
The event which began on Monday the 8th August is scheduled to end on the 12th.
While preparing for the convention, Continental Overseer (North Africa), Pastor Joseph Obayemi in a press conference in Kaduna had revealed the uniqueness of the convention of the church that has representation in over 197 countries of the world.
According to him, this year’s convention is unique and important as a church because it symbolises a major landmark.
“RCCG was divinely revealed to our late Founder and General Superintendent, Rev. Josiah Akindayomi in 1952. His obedience, zeal, trust in God and commitment to prayer and the word of God truthfully watered the mustard seed that God planted 70 years ago into a behemoth and colossal kingdom vehicle the world is seeing today.
“The church has equally impacted lives, communities and nations through our various social impact and investment programmes and as a covenant church that was birthed by God’s covenant and still living God’s covenant, we are well aware of our responsibility to the kingdom of God, our nation of origin and the world at large,” he said.
