The African Democratic Congress ( ADC ) Bayelsa state chapter had not only applauded the monumental achievements of the Restoration government of governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state , but also lauded him and commended him for the Bayelsa State Health Insurance Scheme ( BHIS ) and the construction of Imiringi Bridge in Ogbia Local government Area.
” If for any reason l count the BHIS and the construction of Imiringi Bridge as monumental achievements of the Restoration government ”
A chieftain of the ADC in Bayelsa state Olord Basuo stated this while speaking to journalist penultimate the ADC,s Congress in Yenagoa.
He said ADC is poised to take over power in Bayelsa state as the ruling People’s Democratic Party has failed the state as all serving commissioners beg to survive as all the glamours that go with appointments are no more and majority of the appointees are disenchanted and contemplating to move to ADC to actualize their ambitions.
He disclosed that a tusanmi will soon hit the ruling party as aggrieved members who will be denied tickets have been inudunating the only ADC member in Bayelsa state House of Assembly, Hon MIKe Ogbara of their intention to defect to ADC soon.
The Ambassador of the ADC who represented the National chairman on the occasion lamented his loneliness in the House and urge the party faithful to field credible and marketable candidates to increase the numbers of ADC members not only in House of Assembly, but other elective offices across the state such as the House of Representatives and the senate.
Hon Ogbara who refused to disclosed the names of notable politicians that are awaiting the governor, s denial of their tickets said Bayelsans will be shocked of the big fish that may be disappointed and are contemplating to defect to ADC in couple of months , stressing they are preparing to accommodate them once they come our doors are wide opened.
“As l speak my phones lines are disturbed with callers strategizing .He said the party which started in a bedroom had achieved national recognition and not only attained the status of a third force, but now had senators and representatives in red and green chambers. He also urged people not to agree that PDP is an Ijaw party because if it were so their son would not have been disappointed at the 2015 presidential elections and come next elections electorate will vote for credible personalities and not parties.
A 51 working members were by affirmation elected to pilot the affairs of the Party pending their inauguration very soon in absence of the chairman Brisibe Kpodoh.
The Congress chairman implored them not to disappoint the confidence reposed in them and lead by example and avoid tendencies that will lead to disunity and acrimony in the party.
